GPOYW-ISAOU (In Saudi Arabia, on Umrah) Edition.
One of my favourite pictures from my Umrah journey last year. This picture here was taken atop “The Mountain of Light” (a.k.a Jabal an-Nur), in an area a few minutes away from the Holy City, Mecca. The significance of this point is profound: it is said that it was in a cave, a few meters away from where i’m standing, that Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) received the first revelation of his Prophet-hood. “Islam” (submission, worship, and praise of Allah (God) alone) as we know it, and the example that the Prophet (PBUH) would go on to perfect, began on this very mountain. Subhan’Allah.

this has to have been taken during Hajj. what a remarkable sight, Alhamdullilah.
